UFOs and a load of Waffle

Hi All,

Well it's over I week since I last posted, still can't seem to get back into blogging mode.  I'm sure the dark, cold winter weather has a lot to do with it.  I just want to snuggle up on the sofa and do NOTHING!

However, I haven't been totally lazy.  Yesterday I was up at the Children's Hospital making Valentine's cards with some of the kids.  The children range from toddlers to teenagers so we have to do something quite simple to suit all ages, so we did lots of gluing and sticking, and they all had a great time.

I've also a couple of UFOs (unfinished objects) on the go ...

my photo inspriation
Last Friday I went to a class where we were making a fabric landscape.  We had to take a photo in as inspiration and then create the landscape layering up different fabrics.

This is my one in it's half finished state, with hills, heather and a little stream. I'll show you it when it's finished - but don't hold your breath!

There's still a lot of work to do on it -  machine stitching, hand stitching and maybe adding some little 3D elements.

This is my next UFO - a 1000 piece puzzle which I got at Christmas.  I haven't done a puzzle for years and it's so addictive once you get started!  It's nice to do something different for a change though.

Finally, I do have something finished - a late entry for the Artful Times Challenge, which is HAPPY NEW YEAR (Chinese that is!)

I had already pre-sewn strips of oriental fabric together ages ago, so I just added some stiffener, backing fabric and a ribbon (which I attached a chinese coin to) and then zig-zagged around the edges to make a  bookmark.

I have been very remiss in my commenting too so I'll sit down this evening and do some catching up.

Thanks for coming to visit and listening to all my waffling!

Take care
Suze xx

OOOh, what gorgeous things you have made for someone who has been sitting on the couch doing nothing! But I know that feeling, and I think the cold weather takes away a lot of our energy. Your picture will be wonderful when it's finished, and your piece for Artful Times is fantastic! Hugs, Valerie

Can't wait to see your picture all finished. It'll look amazing. My dot has two jigsaws on the go and one is 1000 pieces. It's so difficult! Loving your oriental bookmark too. x

Hi Suze
That fabric collage is astonishing, amazing use of colour and then the bookmark - this looks as though it should be in some fancy gift store, beautiful.
Suze, thank you for visiting my blog and leaving such lovely comments when I was unable to visit you - much appreciated.
We had snow yesterday but today it was a blue sky day and most of the snow has now disappeared.
Wishes
Lynne

Sorry I am so late blame it on the jet lag please. I too am so ready to sit on the settee and vegetate (or sleep as is the case every afternoon at around 4 pm).
Love this bookmark and it has given me an idea for something I can do for a project I need to get under my belt. Now to find some Asian fabric. What a great idea you came up with - and so beautiful too.
Thanks for joining us at Artful Times,
Hugs, Neet xx

Oh, my, Suze, I'd say you have been very productive! That fabric landscape project is so spot on, just stunning even it its current state.

Good luck with the puzzle! I LOVE them! You are blessed to be able to multi-task like this. Me, I wouldn't be able to stamp or blog if I started a puzzle, until it was finished. Have fun with all you've got going on!
