Hi all,
Thanks for popping in - hope today finds you fit and well!
I've been a bit fed up lately with just making cards so I decided to have a bit of fun and join in with the The Craft Barn Challenge. (You need to get your skates on if you want to join in though 'cause it closes tomorrow)
The challenge is to use one of six colouring techniques and I've gone for -
Using misters (Dylusion or another brand) with a straw
I used the only sprays I have - Glimmer Mists (Jazz Blue & Viva Pink). I have to say I found it quite difficult blowing through the straw - thought I was going to hyper ventilate - so I ended up using an air pump which I have for blowing up one of those big exercise balls.
Here's the result - at first I thought it looked like trees but then I thought, no, they look like stick people ...
So I added PaperArtsy heads which I coloured with Promarkers ....
and finished it off with a frame and sentiment.
I thoroughly enjoyed just having a play, don't think I've blown through a straw since I was at school - and as they say - a change is as good as a rest!
I'm also going to play along with Simon Says Stamp and Show - "No Rules - Anything Goes"
Apologies for being a bad blogger the last few days, will do my best to catch up with you all over the weekend.
Thanks again and take care.

Time for a Twinchie
Hi all,
I had time last night to make a little twinchie for Show us Your Twinchies, #4 - Add a Flower.
Distress Ink background (Dusty Concord & Faded Jeans), Woodware Paper Flowers coloured with Antique Linen DS, Metallic Promarkers & Brilliance Galaxy Gold), Large Brad, Sentiment by Wendy Vecchi, stamped in SU Soft Suede.
Okay, that's it for today - I've not been in a very 'crafty' mood of late - I think mainly due to the fact that my craft room is in such an almighty mess, I can hardly bear to go in it. Tidying it out was on my 'to do' list for the summer holidays, however the kids went back to school yesterday after being off for 7 weeks and I've still not tackled it - (my excuse - I'm waiting until I'm in a 'ruthless' mood so that I WILL chuck stuff out).
Okay dokey, time for an afternoon cuppa.
Thanks for popping in, see you all soon.

Birthday Fishes
Hello everyone,
Tell me, what do you do when you're stuck with a challenge, for me, the answer is to "think outside the box".
My dilemma is with this week's CASology challenge Week #6 - the cue card being SCHOOL. I have no stamps which fit with this educational establishment, so (I think I may really be chancing my luck here and may well be disqualified!?) but I've gone for "a school of fish" ...
Stamp is Inkadinkado, stamped in Sky Blue, Copper & Ivy Brilliance Inks. A touch of Broken China DI. Sentiment is computer generated. There is a bit of reflection in the photo - that is caused by the SUN, which is making a welcome appearance today.
This card also fits two other challenges, so I'm trying my luck there too ...
CAS-ual Fridays CFC65 - Square Card, and
Addicted to Stamps Theme Challenge #2- Cards for Boys
Thanks for taking the time to visit. Schools here go back next Tuesday so I should have a bit more blogging time when we return to a normal routine. Goodness knows how we're going to get up and out of the house for 8.15!
See you soon.

A bluebird
Happy Sunday folks,
Today I've a wee card for you for this week's Less is More Challenge. It's a one layer week and the theme is "Fur or Feathers".
Well, you know what they say about working with animals - for some reason this week's challenge had me in a pickle. To start with I don't seem to have many animal or bird stamps and what I do have, just didn't appeal to me. So, although I'm not overly enthused by my entry this week - it's what you're getting. Lol!
So here are some feathers ...
Bird stamp is by Andy Skinner, stamped in Brilliance Sky Blue. Sentiment is PC generated.
and here is some fur ...
We were at Edinburgh Zoo yesterday, here is Mr Panda busy stuffing his face - Mrs Panda was having her afternoon nap!
Thanks for popping in, sorry I didn't have much time to come visit you last week.
Edit: The song - "Groovy Kind of Love" has just popped into my head - I like the Mindbenders version from 1965 but you youngsters might be more familiar with Phil Collins version in 1988...
"When I'm feeling blue, all I have to do is take a look at you, then I'm not so blue ......."

Fancy a Swim?
I have been stumped this week with two challenges, namely ...
Crafty Cardmakers - Challenge #71 - Olympic Spirit, and
CASology - Week #5 - Pond
However, not to be outdone, I was rattling by brains last night and having a little browse of the internet, when I came across a vintage swimming lady from The Graphics Fairy. Apart from the hair colour, she bares a striking resemblance to myself in a swimming costume and I too am as graceful as this when entering the water (ROFL) so that'll do me, I thought. Here she is ...
I coloured her skin with Promarkers and paper pieced her cap. Some DP for the sky and water and a dotty embossing folder. I could only think of really cheesy sentiments like 'make a big spash on your birthday' or 'have a swimming time' so I left it plain.
I thought I might be stretching it a bit with the Pond challenge but I'm sure in countries where it's warm enough you all partake in a bit of pond skinny dipping!
It's hubby's birthday today (gasp, horror - I "bought" him a card) but my daughter baked him a yummy marble cake ...
We're off to Edinburgh for the weekend to catch up with family and friends so I'll see you at the beginning of next week.
Have a lovely weekend and thanks for dipping in.

A Twinkling Twinchie
Hi all,
A little twinchie for your today ...
Elephant stamp is Crafty Individuals - stamped in Adirondack watermelon. Coloured with promarkers with a touch of Sakura clear and coloured gel pens and some teeny bling.
Challenges:
Show us Your Twinchies, Challenge #3 - Bright Colours, and
Addicted to Stamps - Make your Mark, Challenge #2
Being on holiday last week I wasn't bothered about missing the Olympics - we're not a sporting family - but since we came home on Friday, we've had the telly on from morning till night. Andy Murray has just won gold and yesterday's wins in the rowing and athletics were just amazing - I couldn't even run for a bus!
Thanks for popping in.

Back in my own bed!
Hi Bloggers,
Got home from our hols yesterday, we had a great time but isn't it fine to be back home in your own bed! Guess where we were ...

Thought it was about time I shared a pic of myself - the older I get the less I like getting my photo taken - where did those wrinkly eyes come from!

Anyway, I've done 5 loads of washing so I've taken a break to do a wee bit of crafting. Goodness knows where this card came from - think my head must still be 40,000 feet up!
Stamps are American Crafts - inked in Versamagic Hint of Pesto & clear embossed. Spaceship and sentiment have been popped up, textured blue card and some bling stars added.
Challenges:
Less is More week 79 - Blue & Green
Cas-ual Fridays CFC64 - Things you'd see in the sky
Keeping with the space theme - did you know there's to be a mars landing tonight - I only know cause my science boffin husband and son are getting up early to watch it.
Okay that's me for tonight, have a great week everyone, I'll be round to do my catching up in the next couple of days.
