For all of you who have young children or do stalls at school fairs, here's a little idea for "sour cream containers".
I'm sure you've all heard of them, there's loads of tutorials on the web but here's a quick rundown .....
You need a piece of patterned paper 6" x 4 1/2" (I got these 6x6 packs for £2.00 each - that's only 4p a sheet)
attach double sided tape to two sides ...
roll into a tube and seal the bottom
pop in a sweetie (I used a selection) and run a bit of glue along the open top end ....
seal the open end (using the opposite orientation) ....
then finish off by crimping both ends.
Edit: The sticky strip is not really strong enough to hold thick paper so best to use double sided tape to seal the top too.
I made a load of them for a school fair I did yesterday and sold them as a "Sweetie Lucky Dip". Being cheap and cheerful they sold really well.

"Less is More" Challenge
Week 17 and it's a recipe over at the Less is More Challenge. "Pick a Square" ... you must contain your image (and sentiment) in one of the 5 following squares and leave the rest of the card completely white!
I'm feeling very chilled out tonight, so I've had a bit of fun...
And finally another bit of paper piecing and a touch of stickles and distress ink (stamps were free with a magazine) - I know this one is rubbish, so don't waste your time commenting on it, Lol!
I'm feeling very chilled out tonight, so I've had a bit of fun...
First one is an Inkadinkado stamp, paper pieced in holographic paper with a touch of bling:
Next, a discontinued Stampin Up stamp, coloured with Sakura pens and mounted onto a clear embossed panel.
And finally another bit of paper piecing and a touch of stickles and distress ink (stamps were free with a magazine) - I know this one is rubbish, so don't waste your time commenting on it, Lol!
Apologies for not commenting much last week (isn't it annoying when life takes over crafting!)
Hope you're all having a great weekend and thanks for visiting.

Cowboy Tag
A quick post and a bit of a last minute entry for the GC101 - Cowboys and Cowgirls Challenge over at Gingersnap Creations.
I've made a tag using a free clipart image of a gorgeous little cowboy I found at "Dapperhouse".
Thanks for looking.

"Less is More" Challenge
The theme this week over at the "Less is More Challenge" is butterflies.
As usual it's taken me a day or so to think about this challenge and to try out various stamps, colours, layouts etc. I've come to the conclusion I'll never be someone who can make a card in "5 minutes", in other words I spend a needless amount of time 'faffing' about and this week is no different!
This was my original card but I felt it wasn't quite right, I think the letters are too heavy for the heart ..
so I tried it without the letters, which I think is better ... do you agree??
The heart image is Papermania 'Confetti' stamped in Dusty Concord Distress Ink and clear embossed. Mounted onto textured card then Bo Bunny DP. Letters cut from Tim Holtz Vintage Market Die. Butterfly is K & Co 'Madeline', stamped in Versafine Imperial Purple & clear embossed.
Wishing you all a happy week. (I've got a busy week this week but I'll try and get round as many of you as I can!)

"Less is More" Challenge
Fingers crossed there's no blogger hiccups today. Gee, I was forced to spend some time doing housework yesterday with blogger being down, mind you that means my house is (relatively) clean & tidy, so I can blog & craft most of the day!
It's Week 15 over at the Less is More Challenge, and this week it's 'One Layer Card - Embossing'. On the one hand this challenge is a bit easier for me (looking back, there's only 3 weeks that I haven't embossed!) however, I felt that I needed to try something I hadn't done before.
I decided to use my fab new stamp from Stampin Up and to create a partially embossed 'frame' around it (the part I haven't done before). Well as you can imagine it took a fair bit of trial and error (I won't bore you with the details) and in my final attempt below, the image is not properly centered inside the frame (and that was using my stamp-a-ma-jig!).
Stampin Up "Wedding Wheels"
Versafine Black Ink & Black EP
Oval Nestie
Victorian Fleur Embossing Folder
Have a great week everyone and fingers crossed Mr Blogger behaves himself!

Wedding Wheels
As soon as I saw the new Wedding Wheels stamp from Stampin' Up, the song, "Daisy, Daisy" immediately sprung to mind.
Although I wasn't sure exactly how I was going to use the stamp, this week on the Less is More Challenge blog, two ladies (Kate and Nicky) used tags on their cards. I thought this was a fab idea, and suitably inspired, today I have made my first ever wedding card (also quite appropriate as today is our 16th wedding anniversary!).
Text printed directly onto card.
Stamp: Wedding Wheels by Stampin Up, silver embossed
White embossed DP, black card & adhesive silver glittery paper
Ribbon, grommet & heart from stash
Hope you like ...

"Less is More" Challenge
Week 14 over at the Less is More Challenge and this week it's a "Colour Challenge - White on White".
I really love white on white but I've never done a whole card white, so I was really up for this challenge when I read it yesterday. However, after a sleepless night and a whole day pulling my hair out, this might be the last 'white on white' card I ever do!
To cut a long story short, first I was going to paper piece, then I was going to use some Tim Holtz Dies but nothing was turning out quite right, so I rummaged through my dies and came across the cuttlebug 'male' and 'female' dies and voila, here is the end result:
Hearts (embossed with 'love') and male & female diecuts mounted onto textured card squares.
Roll on next Saturday, surely a one layer card must be easier than this! Lol!
Thanks for visiting everyone and a big hello and thank you to all my lovely followers.

Simply Sassy Banner Challenge
Just a quick posting. I've made a card for the Simply Sassy Banner Challenge using Hippie Chick, one of my favourite Sassy images.
She's coloured with promarkers with a touch of Sakura glitter pen and the image is mounted onto Bo Bunny and Core'dinations card.
Closing date for entries is Saturday 7th May so come on all you Sassy fans, get colouring! Good luck to all entrants.

Something with Wings - Sugar Nellie's Guardian Angel
I really should stop spending so much time wandering around blogland because I've come across yet another challenge that I quite fancy and I've spent the last couple of hours making a card when I should have been ironing!
It's the Stamp Something Challenge and it appealed to me because the theme this week is "Something with Wings". Sugar Nellie's Guardian Angel immediately sprung to mind, I really love this stamp.
She's coloured with Promarkers and I've kept the design nice and simple so as not to detract too much from the image.
Thanks for visiting.

My First ATC
On my recent bloggy wanderings, I came across the new ATC Challenge Blog. I only started cardmaking in August last year and I have never made an ATC, so I thought why not give it a go!
Their first challenge is "Anything Goes" and as I'm a big oriental fan, I decided it would be easiest to go with this.
It also fits the bill for the Gingersnap Creations 'Red and Gold' Colour Challenge, so I'm entering it there too.
Oriental papers
'Double Happiness' ribbon
Tim Holtz Rosette Die
Inkadinkado Bamboo and Buddha Stamps
Black & gold inks and gold EP.
Perfect Pearls Bronze
Thanks for visiting and I don't mind constructive criticism!

"Less is More" Challenge
Week 13 over at the Less is More Challenge and this week it's a lucky dip with the theme 'Thank You' or 'Congratulations'.
My original idea was to mount two hearts onto a gold embossed panel but it was too fussy, so after quite a bit of time playing around with the layout, this is the end result. I suppose I could have been even more CAS and stamped the sentiment straight onto the card but it's done now and I need to get back out into the sunshine!
The heart stamp has been stamped with versamark twice on white card and twice on kraft card, then embossed in gold. I then softened the brown kraft card with distress ink.
Heart Stamp - Inkadinkado 'Friendship'
Sentiment - Papermania
Versamark with Gold EP
Worn Lipstick Distress Ink
Kraft & white cardstock
Hope you're all having a great holiday weekend.
