Don't look for the white specs!

Hi all,

Another quickie from me tonight, a card for three challenges, but I have to tell you I nearly gave up on this one - it was the black card base that did it!!

CAS-ual Fridays - CFC62 - Black Card Base
Dynamic Duos - #12 - Black Tie with Poppy Parade and Punches
Addicted to Stamps - Clean & Simple Challenge #1

Black card base, Stampin Up border punch, SU DP & Heart Punch (overstamped and clear embossed), SU sentiment white embossed and three tiny buttons.

Please don't look at the white specs - I did not do the anti static thing cause by this time I'd had enough - also I think the sentiment is a bit squished at the bottom because I decided to add it after I'd stuck everything else down! Oh well, you win some, you lose some!

Off now for a chocolate fix - I think I deserve one!

Bye for now

'Happy' Crafting

Good evening happy crafters,

'Sew' much crafting to be done - and so little time! Don't you agree!

Well, I've had a 'little time' to myself tonight and have a card for you which I've made with two challenges in mind -

CASology #2 - "Happy", and
Less is More Week 77 - "Sewing"

Bobbins are a TH die, cut in kraft card and inked lightly with Vintage Photo and wrapped with DMC threads.
Sentiment is computer generated.

Okay, that's me for tonight, short and sweet!  Have a great week everyone, I probably won't be able to join in next week's challenges - later in the week we're off to the city that's so good they named it twice! Can't wait!

See you all soon, take care and thanks for coming to visit.

Twinchies are all the Rage

Hello there bloggers,

Well it seems Twinchies are all the rage at the moment.  This week Show Us Your Twinchies are asking for "Summer" and the theme at Out of a Hat Creations is "Twinchies".

These are the first ones I made

La Blanche stamp, stamped with Archival black then inked with Squeezed Lemonade, Shaded Lilac and Peacock Feathers DI, then coloured with a touch of Barn Door. A touch of stickles and some Stampin Up Butterflies.

I was half way through making these when I remembered that I'd intended to try Paula Whittaker's highlighter pen technique (see this month's Craft Stamper), so I made a couple more ...

These images are Stampin Up, stamped with StazOn (it definitely is a blacker black than the Archival and I love the smell of StazOn)

This one is a PaperArtsy stamp. Stamped onto plain card and again onto the twinchie.  Sentiment is Stampin Up and I coloured the linen thread with a black Promarker.

So that's me "twinchied out" for this week.

Thanks for paying me a wee visit.

A little thank you ...

Here's a little thank you for all you lovely people who stop by my blog.  I don't know what I did with my time before I started blogging (eh, well maybe a bit more H*******K got done!) but I have met some truly lovely (and very talented) people online.

Anyways, here's a little thank you card for you all (and it's also for this week's Less is More Challenge!)  It's a one layer week with the theme of "The Number Three"

I've used three stamps (Inkadinkado inchies) stamped with Archival Black, then I inked them with three DI's (Victorian Velvet, Dusty Concord & Worn Lipstick).  Three groups of pearls and three scorelines. (I don't know what blogger's doing here it keeps changing the background to white)

Et Voila! One of the quickest cards I've made for the LIM challenge.

Okay dokes, got to go and feed 'la famille' then I'll be round to see you this afternoon.

Thanks again for coming to visit.

A Postcard and a Twinchie

Hello bloggers,

How's everyone doing today.  I'm actually feeling in quite a good mood - was at the hairdressers this morning and I no longer have any grey hairs in sight!

Yesterday I dug out my box of oriental stamps (that may sound like I'm organised but I'm not - I've got a box for oriental, a box for christmas and everything else all jumbled up together!) and I've made a postcard and a twinchie.

The postcard is for two challenges:
Out of a Hat Creations - A Travel Postcard, and
Fashionable Stamping Challenges #25 - Oriental

I started by gluing some red oriental paper onto a blank postcard.  I then collaged on some pieces of  white handmade paper and gold napkin.
I stamped the Geisha (Bravura stamps) and Mt Fuji (make unknown) onto tissue paper then stuck them down with 'Glue n Seal'.
I then gold embossed a blossom stamp onto tissue, stuck that down then gold embossed around the edges.
Added a coin for good luck!

The twinchie is for Show Us Your Twinchies - Anything Goes

Background made with Distress Inks, I then gold embossed the buddha (Inkadinkado), coloured his robe with DI then edged with a gold pen.

Okay, that's me for today, it's cuppa time again and I haven't done any commenting today yet.

See you all again soon.
Take care.

Where did that grey 'hair' come from?!

Pure Gold

Hi All,

Well I eventually managed to get a card made this afternoon, in between running back and forth from my craft room to watch the tennis.  What an achievement for Andy Murray in reaching the Wimbledon final, it was a fantastic game and there's always next year!

Okay, onto my card which is for the Less is More Challenge and this week Chrissie and Mandi have chosen the colour GOLD.

I embossed the Stampin Up Very Vintage roller in gold, cut two Tim Holtz Florals in gold miri and embossed one. The centre of the flower is a gold chain from a necklace stuck down with some Glossy Accents.

I have to say I think gold and white make a very classy combination, can't wait to see what all you other LIMettes have created.

Have a great week everyone.
Thanks for  coming to visit.

Pink & Bronze Christmas

Hello lovely bloggers, hope you're having a nice day wherever you are.

Today we actually have SUN! It's amazing how much better you feel when the sun is shining, so this morning I decided to go out for a little power walk to try and start getting fit! Well I was out for 20 minutes and I nearly collapsed when I got back. We live on a hill and I didn't think I was going to make it back!  Hmm, lots of room for improvement then!

Okay, now can anyone tell me what "Christmas in July" is all about - I don't really get it! However, as  the weather recently has been more wintry than summery, I have decided to play along!

Addicted to Stamps (Theme Challenge #1) are asking for "Christmas in July" and
Crafty Cardmakers (Challenge #71) are asking you to make your own flower. (Thanks also to CC for placing my fabric bookmark in last week's Top 5).

I made a vellum poinsettia with my new Spellbinders die (I bought it early cause I couldn't get hold of it last Christmas) and layered it onto some origami and bronze papers.  Sentiment is Tim Holtz embossed in copper with a touch of Aged Mahogany DI.

Okay, that's all my crafting time for today - off to do a bit of weeding whilst it's still dry.

Bye for now

Fancy Some (Crumb) Cake!

Hi All,

It's Sunday evening and that's another weekend gone and can you believe it's the first of July. That's our schools now on holiday for 7 weeks, hmm, wonder if I'll be able to motivate my teenagers to venture out of their bedrooms!

Onto my card then, and I'm entering it into two challenges this week:

Less is More, Week 74 - it's a Lucky Dip week and Chrissie and Mandi have challenged us to use the LIM logo as inspiration, and

Dynamic Duos #9 - Crumb Cake and any another colour of your choice (you're also allowed to use any neutral colours)

(I'd also like to say a big congratulations to Kim who is guest designer on LIM this week and she's also on the DT for Dynamic Duos)

I used Stampin Up Elementary Elegance stamp set, stamped in black and clear embossed, SU butterfly embosslits, Crumb Cake and Very Vanilla card and Very Vanilla ribbon.

Yesterday it was Armed Forces Day and as my son is in the Air Cadets he participated in a march down the main street of Aberdeen - here are a few pics

The pipes and drums

Okay, I'm going to grab myself a cuppa now and catch up with my commenting.

Have a nice week.
