CCM Challenge 85

Happy Monday Everyone,

Time for another challenge over at Crafty Cardmakers and this time the theme is BLOOMING IMAGES - make your flower image the focus of your card.

I've used a lovely Hero Arts poppy stamp which I inked up using 2 blue and 2 green Dewdrop inks. I then cut a square frame using a Spellbinders die, then stamped and mounted a sentiment.

Easy peasy, 'cause of course I left it till the last minute to make my card so I didn't have much time to faff about.

Our sponsors for this challenge are Crafts and Me who have donated 3 digi stamps and we also have a fabulous die set up for grabs too.

So dig out your flowery stamps and join us for a blooming good challenge over at Crafty Cardmakers!

Thanks for coming to visit,
Take care

UFOs and a load of Waffle

Hi All,

Well it's over I week since I last posted, still can't seem to get back into blogging mode.  I'm sure the dark, cold winter weather has a lot to do with it.  I just want to snuggle up on the sofa and do NOTHING!

However, I haven't been totally lazy.  Yesterday I was up at the Children's Hospital making Valentine's cards with some of the kids.  The children range from toddlers to teenagers so we have to do something quite simple to suit all ages, so we did lots of gluing and sticking, and they all had a great time.

I've also a couple of UFOs (unfinished objects) on the go ...

my photo inspriation
Last Friday I went to a class where we were making a fabric landscape.  We had to take a photo in as inspiration and then create the landscape layering up different fabrics.

This is my one in it's half finished state, with hills, heather and a little stream. I'll show you it when it's finished - but don't hold your breath!

There's still a lot of work to do on it -  machine stitching, hand stitching and maybe adding some little 3D elements.

This is my next UFO - a 1000 piece puzzle which I got at Christmas.  I haven't done a puzzle for years and it's so addictive once you get started!  It's nice to do something different for a change though.

Finally, I do have something finished - a late entry for the Artful Times Challenge, which is HAPPY NEW YEAR (Chinese that is!)

I had already pre-sewn strips of oriental fabric together ages ago, so I just added some stiffener, backing fabric and a ribbon (which I attached a chinese coin to) and then zig-zagged around the edges to make a  bookmark.

I have been very remiss in my commenting too so I'll sit down this evening and do some catching up.

Thanks for coming to visit and listening to all my waffling!

Take care

Vintage Wedding Wheels

Hi Folks,

Another Monday is upon us and it's time for another challenge over at Crafty Cardmakers.

Our hostess this fortnight is Kylie and she has chosen the theme VINTAGE LOVE.  (Your project MUST be vintage and SHOW at least one object that portrays love.

And remember your submission does not have to be a card.

That being said - I've gone for a card! ...

I used Stampin' Up Wedding Wheels and En Francais Stamps and the sentiment is Kaisercraft. Dies I used are Stampin' Up Top Note and Framelits and  Spellbinders oval and fancy tag.  My finishing touches were some white seam binding and a couple of pearls.

Our sponsors this challenge are Di's Digi downloads who have donated a $10 gift voucher

 and
Hobby Art who have donated two love themed stamps.

Hope you can join us for this challenge, pop on over to the blog for some great inspiration.

Wishing you all a great week.

Take care

LIM is Two!

Hi folks,

There's birthday celebrations today over at the Less is More Challenge - "Two Today!" - so I felt I had to make the extra effort to join in this week.

It's a colour challenge - KRAFT & KREME (or for the less posh - buff and cream!).

I started with a kraft card and die cut an aperture with a Stampin Up Framelet.  Added a punched lace strip (again Stampin Up), a couple of Hero Art Butterflies.  I adhered a  panel of Stampin Up Very Vanilla card on the inside and stamped a Tina Wenke sentiment in SU Crumb Cake.

I've missed doing the rounds the last couple of days so I will be round to visit you all this evening.

(I'm having a fiddle about with my block background today - instigated by poor cross-eyed Darnell who was having trouble reading white writing on black, so I thought I'd reverse it and see if it was any easier for folks to read - I'll spend a bit of time tweaking it later!).

Okay dokes, need to go and feed the brood.

Thanks for popping in today,

See you all soon.
