A Splash of Yellow Sunshine

Hi everyone,

Hope you're all having a nice weekend wherever you are. We've actually had a sunny day here today although it's still very cold - The saying "Ne'er cast a clout till May be out" is certainly going to apply this year!

On to this week's Less is More Challenge which is the colour YELLOW.  Not a colour I often use and the only yellowish ink I have is Crushed Olive distress ink, which to me is definitely more yellow than olive!

The stamps are Wendy Vecchi - I stamped the butterfly again onto acetate (which I'd coloured with a yellow promarker) to give the wings more dimension ...

I also make a second card.  This one's a bit of fun and I'm submitting it to the CAS-ual Fridays Challenge, which this week is BIRTHDAYS.

Rummaging through my stuff, looking for something yellow, I came across a bag of feathers.  The card base is lemon, the owl is a Stampin Up punch and the sentiment is PC generated.

Thanks for visiting,
Have a great week

Suze xx

Considering the fact you don't use yellow often, you have managed to find some great stuff for these super cards!
Thanks so much

Two fab. cards Suze - love the yellow elements on both of them. The Wendy Vecchi stamp set is a favourite of mine - it's so versatile. The little birdie looks so cute sat on that gorgeous feather! Great work!

Lovely cards Suze. Yellow is a colour I don't use much either, but it looks great here. The weather here is cold and dull, we had 7° today, brrrrrrrr! Hugs, Valerie

I really like your butterfly card. I like the black and yellow together. I wouldn't have thought of that.
The owl card is fun.

If you hadn't told me, I would never have guessed you didn't use yellow on a regular basis.

Both cards are lovely Suze but my favourite has to be the first one. I'm gettting quite a taste for butterflies - don't own many though! - and I love the way you've made it 3D. Love the edging too.

Great cards! I adore the owl sitting on the feather - he's my new favourite punch! And the yellow is so striking with the black in the first card.

It has to be at least 75 degrees before I'd even consider casting any of my clothes off! I love your cards Suze but particularly the second one - having that fab owl perch on the feather was a great idea and I love the bright yellow against the lemon. Vicky x

A splash of sunshine is just what we need with this weather. They are both lovely cards. Love the humour of the second. I like the way that you have used the computer to achieve this. Off to have a google for Wendy Vecchi!!

As you can see from my pic I'm a total slacker, pegs, grass, leave it all, haven't got a care in the world! ROFL Thanks for your visit:0) xx
