Cozy Kiddie Handwarmers

Hi All,

Well, British Summer Time has now officially ended, and it's dark o'clock at 5 in the evening.  I don't much care for the dark winter nights, makes me feel very lazy and consume even more chocolate than I normally do!

However, I have been busy the last couple of weeks making stuff for the four Christmas craft fairs I'm doing this year.  Three of them are at local nursery/primary schools, so with the little kiddies in mind, one of the things I've made are some cozy little microwavable handwarmers...

I used 100% cotton flannel, cut into 4" squares.  I also cut two squares of lining material, stitched them all together, leaving a gap for turning. Filled with rice then handstitched up.

I've packaged them up and added a little instruction leaflet ...

When first heated the rice gives off a little moisture so I've already heated them three times in the microwave just to make sure they're all ok!

I'm linking to Handmade Monday, over at the Handmade Harbour blog for the first time.

Okay, that's me for now, my Cadbury's Fruit & Nut is calling!  See you tomorrow with a card for the new Crafty Cardmakers challenge.

Thanks for popping in.

Suze xx

They are really sweet. I dislike dark nights and from this weekend it will just all feel so much worse! Roll on spring!!

Oh how I wish that I had found hand warmers a few years ago. A great idea and all very professionally packaged up.

Your hand warmers are a lovely idea, especially as the weather's starting to get chilly. Unfortunately they wouldn't work for me as we don't have a microwave. Your packaging looks very professional. Do you make the labels yourself?

Those are such cute ideas and the way you packaged them, honestly Suze you should be so proud of those - I am sure they will sell like hot cakes and let it be known, I am in total admiration of you to tackle 4 Christmas Fairs - no wonder you need chocolate to keep you going!

Well if they dont want there lickle fingers warming the can always rip them open and consume the contents seeing as how you have pre cooked them. Does Uncle Ben know you are doing this ! Seriously fab and fun and am sure the kiddies will love them.
