"Less is More" - Stampin' Up Medallion

First week of July and it's colour week over at the Less is More Challenge ...

sHADES oBLUE

Thank you Chrissie and Mandi for another great challenge.

It's my friend's birthday tomorrow and yesterday I made her a card using my new super duper Stampin' Up Medallion stamp. This is a pretty big stamp and I have to say it's not the easiest to get a solid crisp image with. I've tried all types of ink and paper (and stamping on a mouse mat etc) and the best results seem to be with Stampin Up ink and SU Whisper White card.  I made my friend a pink one ....

so I thought I'd just do the same again in blue but unfortunately I don't have any blue SU ink so the image is not as perfect as I would like ....

There's a space on this one for a small sentiment but I'm leaving it blank for the meantime.

Stamp - Stampin' Up Medallion
Inks - Versamagic Night Sky & Brilliance Sky Blue
Matted onto textured blue card stock

Thanks for taking the time to visit me and if you don't already enter into this challenge, please give it a go - you won't meet a nicer bunch of bloggers!

Have a great week everyone.
Suze x

I love this stamp and was tempted to use it for this challenge. But, I had to make a birthday card for a boy urgently so changed tack. I love how you inked these cards.

Lovely.

I don't use the Medallion stamp enough, you've inspired me to get it out again! Lovely cards and both colour schemes work so well.

I didn't have any SU! blues before the colour renovation as I didn't really like any aside from the navy ones - Ballet Bleurgh, * shudder * If you want a recommendation - Marina Mist and Baja Breeze are wonderful colours. I also have Pacific Point but it's a tad intense and I like it but don't love it like I do Marina Mist and Baja Breeze.

I think it's stunning and the fact that it's not a perfectly crisp image on the blue one gives it more character. I'm told the trick to getting crisp images from large stamps is to ink up the stamp, lay it on it's back and lay the paper/card on top then press all over with your hands - but don't quote me lol
thanks for your lovely comment about my video, might have to make some more :)
